Né à Nantes en 1968, Simon Artignan a étudié les arts plastiques et les sciences sociales, il a élaboré des scénographies de théâtre et de festivals, et a fondé le Site Expérimental de Pratiques Artistiques.

Artiste et commissaire d’exposition, il expose en France et à l’étranger, traite de phénomènes complexes avec des matériaux simples, aussi bien dans l’espace muséal qu’in situ. Salué par des critiques pour sa création atypique, il peut aussi bien confronter ses œuvres à l’univers de compositeurs ou d’écrivains contemporains. Il collabore régulièrement à des œuvres hybrides et a reçu un prix de l’Académie Charles Cros avec le compositeur Colin Roche pour l’installation concertante La robe des choses.

Artiste transdisciplinaire, il travaille au développement d’une oeuvre sans fin évoquant la disparition concomitante des langues et des biotopes.

Born in Nantes (Fr) in 1968, Simon Artignan studied fine arts and social sciences, and founded the Experimental site of artistic practice, which he was president.

He exhibited in France and abroad. He's working about complex phenomena with simple materials, both in the museum space than in situ. Hailed by art critics for his independents views, he may as well proposed his works with the world of composers and writers. He regularly contributes to hybrid works and received an award from the Academy Charles Cros with composer Colin Roche  for a concert installation The dress of things that have been published in Sismal Records.

Multidisciplinary artist, he is currently working on a work evoking the disappearance of languages and animal species.
